Why Families Keep Choosing Our Preschool Program

Over the past several weeks we opened up our Preschool classroom to share what a typical morning looks like and why we teach the way we do. Today we want to talk about what children carry with them once they leave.

By the time children complete our three year Preschool program, they read, write, and solve real math problems. Those academic skills matter, but they are not what families tell us stands out most.

Parents tell us their children come home able to solve problems on their own instead of asking an adult for help right away. They notice their child pouring their own milk, helping a younger sibling get dressed, or saying, "I can do it myself." One parent shared that her child grew up to run for school council, and later school president, simply because he believed his ideas mattered. She traces that confidence back to years of being trusted with real choices in our classroom.

This is what three years in a mixed age Montessori community builds. Children learn to focus, to correct their own mistakes, and to care for the people around them. They leave ready for kindergarten, and ready for whatever comes after that.
