The Wayland Montessori School

Since 1974, The Wayland Montessori School has provided an authentic Montessori education for children from 15 months through 6 years of age. Our Toddler and Primary programs are thoughtfully designed to support each stage of a child's development while remaining true to the educational philosophy of Dr. Maria Montessori.
Our school follows the Montessori method in its truest form, an approach grounded in careful observation, scientific understanding of child development, and deep respect for every child as a capable, independent learner. Through carefully prepared environments and scientifically designed Montessori materials, children are encouraged to explore, discover, and learn at their own pace during the sensitive periods of development.
In our Toddler Program (15 months to 2.9 years), children are nurtured in a warm, peaceful environment that supports independence, language development, movement, self-care, and the formation of positive social relationships. Through purposeful activities and consistent routines, toddlers develop confidence, concentration,
and a growing sense of belonging.
In our Primary Program (2.9 to 6 years), children continue to build upon these foundations through a rich curriculum that includes Practical Life, Sensorial, Language, Mathematics, Cultural Studies, Science, Geography, Art, and Music. Mixed-age classrooms foster leadership, collaboration, and respect while allowing every child to progress according to their individual developmental readiness.
At The Wayland Montessori School, every child is recognized as a unique individual with limitless potential. Our prepared environments provide a safe, beautiful, and stimulating space where curiosity flourishes and a lifelong love of learning is cultivated. A Peek Inside Our Preschool Classroom
Walk into our Preschool classroom on a typical morning and you will notice something right away. It is calm. Children move with purpose, choosing their own work and caring for their space. This is Montessori in action. We design every shelf, every material, and every routine for children ages two years nine months through six. Our guides observe closely and offer each child exactly what they are ready for next. We are spotlighting this program because we want every family in our community to see what makes it special. Back to School Night: September 15
Our Wayland Montessori families are invited to a parents only evening on September 15. We'll cover what to bring, what to skip, and how to set your child up for a confident start to the year. It's also a chance to meet other families before the year gets busy.
